I wanted to talk about the characters from MK1 for starters as the first movie will be about the Earthrealm tournament.
Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion/Hanzo Hasashi (confirmed): Sanada has the face resemblance to the unmasked look of Hanzo Hasashi.
Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot (confirmed)
Peter Jang as Kuai Liang/Tundra/Sub-Zero: With Joe as Bi-Han, Peter would be a good choice as the original Sub-Zero's brother!
Tadanobu Asano as Raiden (confirmed): After Christopher Lambert, let's hope Asano can contribute as Raiden both light & dark. We haven't seen Raiden fight much in the movie even though Lambert's replacement did the fighting in Annihilation (which wasn't good). With Raiden based after Raijin, Shinto god of thunder, it's a match. I would've went for Keanu Reeves as Raiden, but... I'll take it.
Ludi Lin as Liu Kang (confirmed): Since Ludi's time in Power Rangers (2017), he'll possibly be the next Bruce Lee and the new Liu Kang after Robin Shou.
Nick Bateman & Linden Ashby (reprising) as Johnny Cage: We haven't seen or heard news about Cage joining the movie reboot. It just wouldn't be the same without him. Let's just hope Johnny will be available. And if he does including movie reboot as a success, I can imagine Linden reprising as Cage again... but 25 years later (MKX) with his daughter Cassie.
Jessica McNamee (confirmed) & Bridgette Wilson/Robin Wright as Sonya Blade: With Jessica as Sonya, hope she does well. And if the movie reboot succeeds everyone's expectations, I can picture Bridgette reprising or Robin playing as Sonya 25 years later (MKX) with her daughter Cassie.
Josh Lawson (confirmed) & Manu Bennett as Kano: Let's just hope Lawson does well as Kano (better not suffer another of the "Kano curse" after the last two actors passed away). Manu Bennett? Since his time as Deathstroke/Slade Wilson in Arrow, he'd fit as Kano too but 25 years later.
Chin Han as Shang Tsung (confirmed)
Deobia Oparei (mocap) & Kevin Michael Richardson as Goro: We haven't heard about Goro in the new movie reboot. Let's just hope he does appear as he's the "sub-boss"!. Deobia is all I got at the moment. I thought of Nathan Jones, but signs of him as Shao Kahn disturb me. I also thought of Kevin reprising the voice of Goro again but for CGI.
Ray Park as Reptile: Since his time as Toad, he fits as Reptile.
What do you all think of these other choices? Are they any good for the future or do you suggest better replacements? No Hollywood ones please!
